Posted November 05, 2018 04:17:49The next step for the film adaptation of Michael C. Crichton’s The Last Man on Earth is being made, according to Variety.
The movie adaptation, starring Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence and Jonah Hill, is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2018.
The original novel, which was first published in 1971, tells the story of a scientist who returns to his hometown of Akron, Ohio, after a career of exploration and discovery in the Antarctic.
It’s a novel that has been adapted several times over the years.
Crichton, who wrote the book in 1971 and published the first of five sequels in 1972, has written several television and film adaptations.
The first of those was the 1985 film, The Last of the Mohicans, which starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, Michelle Williams and Dwayne Johnson.
A few years later, The Next Generation premiered, starring Patrick Stewart, James T. Kirk and Denise Crosby.
In 2015, Crichtons novel The Last Men on Earth was adapted for a Broadway musical starring John Lithgow and Mark Wahlberg.
However, the musical has since been canceled.
Last Man on Planet Earth also featured Richard Gere, and was the first time a major movie franchise had been made from a novel.
The Last man and the woman from the book are never seen again.
Cracks in the wall between The Last, The Man in the High Castle and Last Man On Earth are now starting to appear.
In the novel, the protagonist is killed, leaving only the man who found him, and the two women who lived with him in the year before he went missing.
